Old City Center Shanghai, China

 Gentle Reader,

The Old City Center of Shanghai is a wonderful riot of color, sounds, smells, and tastes.  The Floating Garden was absolutely beautiful, with meandering walkways throughout.  There are so many lovely places in China, all designed to be enjoyed leisurely and peacefully.  These are very people friendly naturescapes, designed to be experienced one small view at a time...

Found an erhu player in one of the shops...  not Ting, of course, but still quite enjoyable.

You can pretty much find anything you want in the Old City Center -- from souvenirs to scarves to stationary to wheels for your shoes, to all manner of daily living supplies.

A vibrant place...but we most especially loved the Yu Gardens, tucked behind the bustling Old City Center.  A piece of tranquility amidst the noise that is daily living.

Namaste,
Marianne
